Posters posters everywhere…

I have received a lot of feedback on the poster campaign last week.  It was only ever intended to be run over a few days with the aim of creating a talking point.  It certainly achieved that!  The key theme was to show that I am here all year round, I do not just turn up at election time.  A common complaint during elections is that people only hear from politicians when they want votes, we are working extremely hard to ensure this is not true in this area at the next election.

Equitable Life Assurance

I have received a huge amount of correspondence following the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s report into the Equitable Life Assurance scandal.  I always personally read and reply to each letter and it is clear an awful lot of Stockton South residents have lost out following the government intervention and regulatory problems.  Those who have lost money should be compensated as it is due to a failure of the regulatory system and government intervention.  Just like Northern Rock (I was a Northern Rock shareholder!) the government blunder in, make a mess and then refuse to meet what should be their responsibilities.  I have as yet heard nothing from the Labour MP for Stockton South, who seems to be forever making excuses whilst refusing to criticise her own government, even when they have so obviously got it wrong.
