MP visits

This lunchtime I hosted a discussion meeting with Alistair Burt MP, Assistant Chief Whip and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.  It was attended by a group of local business people from Stockton South and discussion, unsurprisingly, focussed on the economy.  It was an extremely productive and informative meeting and, whilst it is sadly clear the country faces difficult times, it was also brought home just how reckless Labour have been in landing us with such a huge national debt.  I feel history is unlikely to judge Gordon Brown kindly for his actions as Chancellor and Prime Minister.

Residents meeting

Last night I attended a residents get together in Eaglescliffe.  It was well attended and the hosts were extremely generous.  It was a great opportunity to discuss local issues and a number of concerns were raised, varying from traffic to planning and even the need for a swimming pool locally!

Party meeting

This afternoon I attended a meeting the a number of Conservative Party members in Stockton.  The purpose was to discuss Stockton South and how our various community projects are working.  it was extremely useful and I must thank the Stockton Conservatives treasurer who provided a lovely selection of buscuits for us to enjoy, with the cost coming out of his own pocket!

Chilly day in IB

This morning I was out campaigning in Ingleby Barwick.  The snow underfoot made for some interesting leafleting and certainly slows you down as you go.  The response from residents I spoke to was extremely positive, they seemed glad that we are so active in the community and pleased to receive intouch, even in the winder months.
