Yarm campaigning

Yesterday I was out campaigning in Yarm with the support of local members and Councillors.  We deliver regular intouch newsletters right across Stockton South, with the Yarm edition having been in print for quite a few years.  Local Conservatives are the only political group to produce a regular newsletter to the whole area.  The response we receive to intouch is always positive, which shows the value of working for the local community all year round, not just turning up at election time.

Meeting with Greg Clark

I attended a meeting with Greg Clark MP, Shadow Secretary of State for DECC and Shadow Teesside Minister.  The meeting was with a number of representatives from regional businesses, ranging from Nissan and Sabic to the CBI and NECC.  There was a frank and useful discussion about many differeing issues and the challenges and opportunities for business in the area.

Campaigning in Thornaby

I was out yesterday (dodging the rain!) delivering newsletters in Thornaby.  It was good to meet quite a few residents out and about and the reception from everyone I met was positive.

MEP meeting

Last night I attended a meal with our regional Conservative MEP, Martin Callanan, and a number of local businesspeople from across Teesside.  It was a good opportunity to discuss Martin’s work and the challenges facing our local business community.
