Campaign Team

Last night was our regular monthly campaign team meeting, where we discuss local issues and progress.  Attention has now turned to the coming general election and I am pleased to say that preparations are well underway.

We have a few exciting new ideas for the coming months which should make our campaign a bit different.  The first half of 2010 is going to be an interesting time!

Candidates meeting

Last night I met up with Paul Bristow, Conservative Candidate for next door Middlesbrough South, and some of his team.   It was a good opportunity to discuss local issues, including those which impact on both Paul’s area and Stockton South.  Paul is running a good campaign in Middlesbrough and I am sure he will get an excellent result come the election.  With a fair wind Teesside could again have two Conservative MPs, although anything could happen and there is a lot of work to be done yet.

Leafleting

I was out leafleting with our local team in Eaglescliffe and Aislaby.  There are some interesting local issues in the area, certainly I have never before had so many residents want to stop and chat about things which concern them.

Gas

The Gazette has printed an article on my calls for gas storage to be looked at as a future boost to the Tees Valley economy.
