Executive

Tonight was what is likely to be the final meeting of the executive committee of Stockton Conservatives before the general election.  We received updates on progress in a number of areas and I set out the plan for the coming months.  It is certainly an exciting time and election planning is keeping everyone busy!

Thornaby

I spent part of yesterday afternoon in Thornaby campaigning on one of the newer estates.  No one I met said they had heard anything at all from Labour but quite a few recognised my regular intouch newsletter.  As the election gets closer it is noticeable that residents more often want to talk about national issues, certainly there is a lot more interest in “what the Conservatives would do” than I can remember at previous elections.

The Office

I had a number of meetings at the local Conservative Party office this evening.  One was with the director of part of my campaign to discuss some interesting plans he has and how we can best implement them as we head towards the election.  The other was with local residents who came to see me about some issues they wanted to discuss.

Residents meeting

I attended a residents association meeting in Yarm Methodist Church.  I had a direct personal interest in this one as I am a member and it was about the management of where I live!  Still it was a good chance to chat about local issues and I met some new neighbours who have just moved in across from me in Eaglescliffe.
