Party BBQ

I attended a fundraising BBQ with the local Conservative Association.  It was a great chance to thank, once again, all those who contributed so much to our election campaign and who are already working hard for next year’s local elections.

Constituency

I spent the day in Stockton holding surgeries and attending a number of meetings.  These included a meeting with a local business which wants support for an idea which could bring hundreds of jobs to the area and the trustees of a care home charity to discuss their work.  In the evening I went to the opening of SIRF, an excellent annual event which seems as well attended as ever this year.

Visits and surgeries

Yesterday I visited a local school to speak at the end of year prize giving, which was followed by meetings with a number of residents in my regular Friday surgeries.  In the early afternoon I went to the offices of Justice First, a local charity, for a discussion about their work.  This was followed by a meeting to discuss business support in the North East and further surgeries with local residents.

Education visits

Today I visited both Durham University and Stockton Riverside College to discuss education issues in the constituency and more broadly.  I also held a number of surgeries with constituents and then finished up with a visit to Beverley and Holderness Conservatives to speak at their supper club.
