I attended a local Conservative Party Quiz Night at Hilton Village Hall. Tickets had sold out and the hall was packed, everyone seemed to be having a great time.
A busy day, including meetings with the local Housing Association, an overseas aid charity project, Active Travel in Stockton and the Hub (young persons citizens advice centre). In the evening I attended the excellent 5 Lamps People Matter Awards at Tall Trees in Yarm.
A busy day in and around Stockton including:
A meeting to discuss the green economy on Teesside
A meeting to discuss a prosed local development
Visit to the Children’s Society and Thornaby Methodist Church with the Big Lottery Fund
Surgery in Yarm Library
Tonight I attended a meeting of the Protect Preston Park group to celebrate victory in the campaign to stop a school being built in the grounds and determine the way forward. The group is now going to work to support the park’s future- which is excellent news for all those of us who care about this local facility. I spoke for a few minutes, as did local Councillor Maureen Rigg and others, but the event was otherwise an informal get together and seemed to be enjoyed by all those present.
