An extremely busy surgery yesterday with a wide range of issues from constituents. This week I also opened the Salvation Army Flower show in Stockton, met with the Council to discuss a range of issues, arranged a meeting with the Stockton Hackney Drivers’ Association, Spoke at a meeting of the Stockton Business Forum, and met with Councillors in Yarm.

Office and debate
On Thursday I took part in a debate in Parliament on human rights on the Indian sub continent, speaking about the challenges faced by Sri Lanka.
On Friday I spent the day in the office, dealing with meetings and correspondence.

Battle of Britain
I took part in the Battle of Britain service in Thornaby this afternoon. It was well attended, with local Councillors and residents turning out to show their respects. The service was followed by the laying of crosses on war graves in the cemetery.

A busy week
A varied week including visiting the official unveiling of the Allison Trainer park in Thornaby, meeting with the Chair of Cleveland Police Authority, two columns for the Northern Echo and the housing core strategy meeting in Kirklevington Village.
