Ian Ramsey, Boundaries, Stockton Baptist Tabernacle and A Way Out

A busy weekend. On Friday I had the honour of presenting a plaque to Ian Ramsey School in honour of two former pupils who flew in the Battle of Britain. One, Len Davies, was present and it was a real honour to meet him.

I also attended a hearing of the Boundary Commission to put on record my concerns about the proposal to put Newton Aycliffe and Yarm together in one constituency.

On Saturday I attended the Stockton Baptist Tabernacle to see the new Minister, Andrew Waugh, former introduced and then in the evening attended a fundraiser for A Way Out, the excellent local charity.

Remembrance weekend

On Sunday I attended Stockton’s Remembrance servie and laid a wreath on behalf of my Stockton South constituents. It was one of the best attended I can recall, perhaps a sad sign of the times with the UK having been invovled in foreign conflicts for some years now.

On the Friday I held a well attended surgery in Yarm, as well as meeting a number of local organisations throughout the day at the office in Stockton. I also visited Powerleague football on Preston Farm industrial estate. In the evening I was the guest speaker at an event organised by Croft Branch of Richmond Conservatives.

Schools and colleges

This weeks constituency visits included to Layfield Primary School in Yarm and a panel discussion with a Labour and Lib Dem MP at Hartlepool college. This week I have also done a number of interviews with Tyne Tees and Look North about the ongoing challenges facing Cleveland Police and our local airport.
