James Wharton is your local Conservative Parliamentary Candidate here in Stockton South.James is a solicitor, working in Stockton and Darlington and practicing Company law. He lives in Eaglescliffe and went to school in Yarm, giving him strong local roots and a better understanding of the issues concerning residents across the area.
After leaving school he read law at Durham University and on graduating went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York before training to be a solicitor with a regional firm, working in Newcastle, Durham and Darlington. Between autumn 2002 and early 2007 James was Chairman of the Stockton Conservative Party.
Through his involvement with politics James has campaigned and worked throughout Stockton South, from fighting for a new school in Ingleby Barwick, to playing a part in the campaign to save Parkview care home in Thornaby and to prevent the relocation of Ian Ramsey School in Stockton itself.
James places a high value on individual freedoms, believing that we need sensible and controlled government and that our public services must be properly funded and efficiently run. He has always been proud of our nation, its history and its diversity and has a particular interest in defence matters and the armed forces as well as regional economic regeneration.
